Luckily we came prepared but I think this is unusual!Īn English speaking bus rep met both buses and kept our luggage for 100 Pesos for the 4 hour stop over in Rio G before the onward trip to El Calafate. Some tips! You can't get off the bus on the ferry which could disappoint some BUT the ferry was on time. It left on time (0300) and arrived on time in Rio Gallegas (1630). We have travelled on sleeper buses in Asia before but this was not too bad! The seats don't fully recline but they are wider than usual and comfortable. We travelled to Rio Gallagas on a cama (sleeper seat). We took the bus from Ushuaia to Rio Gallegas then on to El Calafate.
